8th Chania International Photo Festival ends 31 March 2025
Deadline: 31 March 2025. Chania International Photo festival has been created by Blank Wall Gallery. Its aim is to gather more than 500 photographers from around the world each year, turning the town of Chania into an international centre of artistic expression focusing on photography. During the last seven years, we managed to make this festival an established international institution. In our effort the Municipality of Chania responded favorably, providing the venues for the festival to be held.

The festival will take place at the Center of the Mediterranean Architecture (CAM) in a building dating back from 1595. The building is known as the Grand Arsenali and was the biggest shipyard located in the Venetian port of Chania. During its lifetime it has hosted many Public Services of the Town of Chania. In 1997 started its renovation, which turned the building into one of the most important cultural centers in Crete. Some of the biggest events, which take place in Chania, are hosted in its premises. It is easily accessible and visited by thousands of people daily.
During the years of its presence the Festival has also used the Hamam on Katre Street and the Mikis Theodorakis Theatre, at the Old Harbor of Chania.
All photographers, amateurs and professionals who are over 18, are eligible to participate to the contest.
The submission of photographs for the specific contest is free.
Only the artists who will be chosen to participate in the exhibition and be presented at the web page of Cip festival, will have to pay the participation fee.
Entries must be submitted no later than March 31 2025. Beyond this date no submission will be accepted.
Each photographer is entitled to a single submission to which he may submit from one to five photographs.
You can submit all your photographs in one category (i.e. portraits 5 photographs) or up to 5 categories (one photograph in each), or in any other combination you wish (i.e. Portrait 2 photographs / panoramic 1 photograph / Fine Art 2 photographs).
Each participation can be distinguished in up to 2 categories.
Each photographer has the right to make only one submission. In case there are more than one submissions from the same photographer all of them will be immediately disqualified.
Our goal is to exhibit more than 500 photographers.
The photographs exhibited at the festival will be printed and framed free of charge.
Everything needed for the realisation of the exhibition (printing of your photographs on 260 gsm paper, framing, hanging of the photos, press releases, invitations, opening night and supervision) are provided without any additional charge.

The photographers chosen to participate in the Festival will be part of a well established Festival running for the 8th year in a row, which is visited by thousands of people every year.
This festival has been internationally acknowledged and the artists participating gain worldwide recognition
