Festival of Abstract and Surrealist Photography in Tours ends 25 April 2026

Deadline: 25 April 2026. ABSURIA, the International Festival of Abstract and Surrealist Photography in Tours, is organizing a competition to select the world’s best abstract and surrealist photographers.
Professional or amateur category.
The nominees and winners are exhibited during the four-month festival, which takes place in the city of Tours, capital of Touraine and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In this exceptional setting, the winners of the various categories receive the prestigious awards for Abstract Photographer of the Year and Surrealist Photographer of the Year.
The 100 nominated and winning photographs are all exhibited, in addition to physical venues, in the festival website’s 3D virtual galleries for an unlimited duration.
The ABSURIA Festival is a 100% physical and digital festival designed to offer photographers the best possible visibility through both physical and digital exhibitions.
All categories of abstraction and surrealism are accepted:
– urban, nature, ICM, light painting… and regardless of the equipment used.
A unique opportunity to be nominated, awarded, and exhibited at ABSURIA, the first international festival dedicated to abstract and surrealist photography, and to receive the title of Photographer of the Year in Abstraction or Surrealism.

Prizes:

100 photographs have been selected for exhibition from May through the end of September in the city of Tours, France.
The nominees will be exhibited during the Festival.
Four exhibition venues with free admission to ensure visibility among 1,200,000 visitors.
The Abstract Photographer of the Year Award will be presented in late May 2026.
The Surrealist Photographer of the Year Award will be presented in late May 2026
The Awards are presented in Professional and Amateur categories
For each category, the following are awarded:
– Photographer of the Year Award for their category
– 2nd and 3rd place awards in the category
Each winner receives an ABSURIA (physical trophy featured on the website)
in Gold, Silver, and Bronze
Each nominated and exhibited photographer receives a certificate attesting to their ranking.
All works exhibited during the Festival are displayed, with no time limit, in dedicated 3D online galleries on the absuria.fr website.
Each photography presentation includes links to the photographer’s website and/or social media accounts.
