Deadline: 15 July 2025. The 2025 World Awards for African Imagery is a global photography competition celebrating the breathtaking beauty, cultural richness, and diversity of the African continent. Organized by the North America Photography Association (NAPA) and the World Cultural Arts Organization (UNWCAO), and proudly sponsored by Benro, this competition invites photographers and visual storytellers from all over the world to share their unique perspectives on Africa through powerful imagery.
Whether you’re a seasoned professional or an emerging photographer, this competition offers a free-to-enter platform to gain recognition, build your portfolio, and contribute to a global conversation about Africa’s past, present, and future.

Categories & Definitions
ANS – Africa’s Landscapes
Capture the breathtaking natural beauty of Africa—its vast savannas, lush forests, arid deserts, flowing rivers, serene lakes, dramatic coastlines, and rural landscapes. This category celebrates the geographical soul of the continent.
AW – African Wildlife
Celebrate Africa’s extraordinary biodiversity through images featuring animals in their natural habitats or protected reserves. From the Big Five to lesser-known species, submissions may include land, marine, bird, or insect life.
Note: Images taken in zoos, aquariums, farms, or other controlled environments will not be accepted.
AC – Culture & Life
Focus on Africa’s vibrant cultural and social life. This includes portraits, traditional customs, festivals, artisanal crafts, clothing, marketplaces, and scenes from education or community life—capturing the authentic spirit, dignity, and resilience of African people.
UAM – Urban Africa & Modernity
Explore the evolution of African cities and the contrasts between tradition and progress. This category highlights urbanization, architecture, transportation, and daily life in modern Africa—offering insight into the continent’s dynamic growth and contemporary realities.
Whether you’re documenting a remote landscape at sunrise, the quiet dignity of a craftsman, or the buzz of a modern African capital—this competition is your opportunity to share Africa’s story with the world, one frame at a time.
