Head On Photo Awards ends 16 August 2026

Deadline: 16 August 2026. Entries are now open for the Head On Photo Awards 2026, Australia’s leading international photography awards. Open to photographers of all levels from around the world, the Awards celebrate excellence across three categories: Portrait, Landscape, and Exposure.

With an $80,000 prize pool, the Awards offer photographers the opportunity to gain international recognition, have their work judged anonymously by an esteemed panel of industry professionals, and be exhibited as part of Head On Photo Festival 2026 in Sydney. Finalists will also be featured in the official Head On Photo Awards 2026 hardcover book, with semi-finalists showcased during the Festival.

To support emerging talent, photographers aged under 25 receive a 50% discount on entry fees.

Whether you’re an emerging artist or an established professional, the Head On Photo Awards provide a platform to share your vision with a global audience.

Prizes:

The three Head On Photo Awards 2026 category winners share an incredible prize pool exceeding AUD$80,000, including AUD$15,000 in cash.

– Overall winners receive: AUD$5,000 cash, a premium OM Systems Camera Kit, a Photobook Australia printing package, and premium magazine subscriptions
– Runners-up receive: A Photobook Australia printing package, and premium magazine subscriptions
– All finalists receive a place in in a fully produced and curated printed exhibition at a key festival venue, online exhibition (www.headon.org.au)
– All finalists are included in a hard-cover catalogue
