Hasselblad Masters ends 28 February 2026

Deadline: 28 February 2026. The Hasselblad Masters photography competition is entering its next round: Professional photographers can now submit their work for the 2026 competition.

Since its inception in 2001, Hasselblad’s Masters competition has aimed to showcase outstanding photographic work and provide a global platform for both established and emerging talents.

The 2026 edition comprises seven categories: Landscape, Portrait, Street, Architecture, Art, Wildlife, and Project // 21, which is specifically for photographers aged 21 and under. Up to three images can be submitted per category, and multiple entries in different categories are expressly permitted.

The work will be judged on criteria including photographic quality, creativity, composition, conceptual depth, and technical excellence. After the finalists are announced, a public vote will be held before the Hasselblad jury makes its final decision.

The jury consists of renowned representatives from museums, institutions, editorial offices, and agencies. The jury will be chaired by Kalle Sanner, Executive Director of the Hasselblad Foundation. Other jury members include Alex Pollack, Director of Photography, National Geographic; Aya Musa, Senior Curator, Foam; Paul Lachenauer, Managing Photographer, The Metropolitan Museum of Art; Rebecca Swift, SVP Creative, Getty Images; RongRong, Co-Founder and Artistic Director, Three Shadows Photography Art Centre; Sonia Jeunet, Global Education Director, Magnum Photos; and Zack Hatfield, Managing Editor, Aperture Magazine.

Submissions may be shot with any camera system-the choice of brand is irrelevant for participation.

Prizes:

One winner will be selected in each category. The award includes a Hasselblad X2D II 100C, two XCD lenses of the winner’s choice, a cash prize of €5,000, and the official title of Hasselblad Master. In addition, the winners will collaborate with Hasselblad on new projects for the Hasselblad Masters Photography Book; selected works will be presented through the company’s international channels.
