AMS Weather Band Photo Contest ends 30 August 2024

Deadline: 30 August 2024. You captured an interesting cloud in the right place at exactly the right moment. You waited patiently for lightning to strike. You photographed the perfect wave, the majestic aurora, a raging storm, or rain on spring flowers. Your dedication to capturing the ever-changing marvels of nature should be recognized! Now you can share those moments with our community of weather enthusiasts–and win recognition and cash prizes!

The American Meteorological Society invites you to enter its fourth annual Weather Band Photo Contest, open to all professional and amateur photographers ages 13+. Prizes for the four winners range from $200 to $500, and all winners will receive a free one-year membership to AMS Weather Band, connecting you with a worldwide network of weather enthusiasts. Winners will also have the opportunity to participate in an AMS Weather Band webinar with other winners, where they can share their experiences, tips, and techniques in weather photography. Submit your photos by 30 August!

The winners will have the chance to participate in a webinar with other winners, sharing their weather photography tales, tips, and tactics.

The runners-up of the contest are invited to write an article about the story behind their submitted photograph, which will be featured on our website. These articles will provide readers with an inside look at the background and inspiration behind each picture, including the location, conditions, and subject chosen.
