On Rose: A Juried Photography Contest ends 31 August 2026
Deadline: 31 August 2026. **On Rose: A Juried Photography Contest + Bay Area Gallery Exhibition**
**What does Rose mean to you?**
Looking Glass Photo in Berkeley, California, invites photographers to answer that question through photography.
**On Rose** is a juried photo contest built around an intentionally open theme. Rose might be a flower—or a color, a place, a person, a memory, a symbol, a story, an emotion, an act of resistance, a moment of renewal, or something we haven’t imagined yet.
**A rose never has to appear in the photograph.**
Photographers may submit up to three images, created with film, digital cameras, or phones. Entries will be reviewed anonymously by three acclaimed Bay Area photographers: **Becky Jaffe, Sarah Deragon, and Brandon Ruffin**.
The **overall winner, category winners, and selected honorable mentions will be exhibited at Abrams Claghorn Gallery & Shop** in the San Francisco Bay Area in October 2026, with an opening celebration at the gallery.
Entry fees are offered on a sliding scale so photographers can choose the amount that works for them, with every entry receiving identical consideration in judging.
Prizes:
The overall winner, category winners, and honorable mentions will have their work exhibited at Abrams Claghorn Gallery & Shop in the San Francisco Bay Area in October 2026, with an opening celebration at the gallery. The overall winner will also receive a commemorative trophy recognizing the strongest photograph in the contest.
